Kanye West Released From Hospital

Kanye West has checked out of the hospital.

After a little more than a week at UCLA Medical Center, the Life of Pablo rapper is now back at his home with his wife Kim Kardashian and their children North and Saint, according to TMZ.

West is also under the care of his personal physician Dr. Michael Farzam. This is the same doctor who called 911 the day West was hospitalized on Nov. 21.

West is still recovering from what some have called a “nervous breakdown.” The rapper displayed bizarre behavior, including the cancellation of his “Saint Pablo World Tour” prior to being admitted.

Since his hospitalization, reports have surfaced regarding some of the issues West has been dealing with, including exhaustion, dehydration, depression, paranoia, and grief over the anniversary of his mother’s passing.

According to the latest report, Kanye is still undergoing psychological and medical treatment.

Lil Twist Sentenced to 1 Year in Jail for Assault

Lil Twist is going behind bars.

On Wednesday (Nov. 30), the Young Money affiliate was sentenced to a year in L.A. County jail for allegedly breaking into former Nickelodeon actor Chris Massey’s apartment, stealing his Rolex, and beating him up in 2014.

The rapper turned himself in in September after failing to show up to a court appearance. He then pled no contest to six charges and struck a plea deal to avoid a potential 10-year sentence, according to TMZ.

As a teenager, Twist entered the game as part of Lil Wayne’s Young Money camp. He quickly befriended stars in the industry, including a close bond with Justin Bieber, but his career would face more controversy than success.

In 2013, the young rapper was arrested for driving under the influence. He had been driving Bieber’s car at the time, further fueling critics who pegged him as a negative influence.

By 2014, Lil Wayne came out in support of Twist after hearing that Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun criticized his prospect. “I heard this bitchass ni**a Scooter talkin’ shit about my little brother,” he said. “Ni**a, this my motherfu**in’ brother, anything you got to say, when you see me say it to my motherfu**in’ face. And if you do happen to say it to my motherfu**in’ face, I ain’t gonna make you eat them words ni**a, I’ma put them bitches on your tombstone…Fu*k you Scooter!”

Twist will have to turn himself in on Feb. 3 and could be released in August with good behavior.

Video: DJ Mustard feat. Rich the Kid & RJ – ‘Know My Name’

DJ Mustard goes nuts in the video for his latest Cold Summer single “Know My Name.”

Featuring Rich the Kid and RJ on the track, “Know My Name” finds Mustard in a straightjacket, looking bewildered and upset in what looks like an abandoned hospital.

Rich is also in the building, but he doesn’t have to worry about a straightjacket. Instead, he’s more concerned with stuntin’.

“I’m a boss, I might flex on a bitch,” he raps. “I ain’t lying, spend a grip on my wrist / If she bad I might take her to the red carpet / Bought a car, now I’m tryin’ to learn how to start it.”

The video keeps the creepy imagery going as RJ raps with a magnifying glass on his blinged-out grill and as ghostly models pop up throughout.

“Know My Name” follows videos for “Want Her” featuring YG and Quavo and “Don’t Hurt Me” featuring Nicki Minaj and Jeremih.

Head to the asylum with Mustard, RJ, and Rich below.

Vic Mensa Joins Standing Rock Protests

Vic Mensa is standing with Standing Rock.

The Roc Nation MC released a video on Facebook, explaining why he’s been protesting in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in the wake of controversy surrounding a potential dangerous pipeline on Native American soil.

“An oil company wants to build the Dakota Access Pipeline and put it through their water source to potentially and most likely contaminate water that services millions of people,” said Mensa.

“Originally,” he added. “The pipeline was supposed to be over by Bismarck, in a different area that’s not Indian country and it’s a white area. What they said was, ‘That’s too risky for their water source so we’re gonna switch it to Indian country.’ We’re not having that. We can’t have that.”

The ongoing protests have not been in vain. President Barack Obama recently commended Native tribes for uniting on this cause.

“I know many of you have come together, across tribes and across the country, to support the community at Standing Rock and together you’re making your voices heard,” he said (via ABC News). “And in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, we’ve made a lot of progress for Indian country over the past eight years, and this moment highlights why it’s so important that we re-double our efforts to make sure that every federal agency truly consults and listens, and works with you, sovereign-to-sovereign.”

For Mensa, the Standing Rock issue falls in line with the Flint water crisis that he’s also fought against. Now, he is encouraging fans to join him in that plight.

“If you believe in the inalienable rights of people,” he wrote. “The right to clean drinking water, the right to food & shelter and the right to freedom then you have to support standing rock. Get on a plane, drive, take a bus do whatever you have to do.

“December 5th the Army Corps has set an ultimatum for the people camped at standing rock, saying that they will forcibly remove the water protectors,” he added. “When one of our freedom is on the line all of our freedom is on the line. Fight for freedom.”
