Cam'ron Clarifies Why Jim Jones Didn't Join Him and Juelz at Summer 16 Show

With the exception of a continued vendetta towards Hot 97, Drake closed his Summer Sixteen swing through Madison Square Garden with numerous gestures of love, one of which manifested itself in him bringing out a couple of New York groups whose presence together exemplifies unity. J. Cole was brought out to share the stage with his generational rival, as were the once estranged Fat Joe and Remy Ma. Then there was Dipset, who came out to rock the house with anthems “Oh Boy”, “Hey Ma”, and “Gangsta Music,” only, missing from the group long-anticipated to someday bury the hatchet for a reunion, was their Capo, Jim Jones. Many fans of the Harlem hit-makers were left resorting to the conclusion that beef persists between Jones and Diplomats original, Cam’ron. Cam’ron has since clarified that Jones’ exclusion wasn’t intentional.

“Juelz called me and told me that Drake called him and wanted us to come out … I seen that on the Gram too. People going, ‘Why y’all ain’t bring Jim up?’ It’s not my show. I don’t conduct the show. It’s not Cam presents Drake. Juelz called me and he said, ‘Drake wants you to come out to the show tonight.’ And it was that simple,” Cam told This is 50, about how their cameo came together. “Everybody wants a long drawn out story like yo, this happened, this happened…”

Unbeknownst to him, Jones actually was in fact in the building, enjoying the event with his son. He would Instagram a photo of his boy taking in the show, with a #DipSet hashtag in the caption that ended “humility is my biggest lesson.” Cam went on to remind listeners that Jones is a man who he came up with and continues to consider family, dismissing the idea that he’d take it as far as some have imagined he has. “Jim’s issues with me or whatever… I know Jim’s moms and kids, his son rather, and his sisters,” he said. “As hard as I would go against somebody else, I wouldn’t go hard on Jim like that. That’s still my man regardless of what people see in the public or media or whatever.”

Lil Bibby & Fredo Santana Defend Malia Obama for Allegedly Smoking Weed

President Obama’s oldest daughter Malia caught some backlash after a video surfaced of her allegedly smoking weed at Lollapalooza last week, but Lil Bibby and Fredo Santana came to her defense. The Chicago rappers spoke out against critics for saying Malia shouldn’t be smoking weed in public.

Lil Bibby posted a screencap of the video of Malia with the caption, “Man Leave her alone! Everybody smoke weed, if that was my daughter and I was the President, she would be able to do whatever she wants. Y’all tripping.” Fredo followed up by sending up an offer to Malia, telling the President’s daughter, “Malia I got the gas if u ever tryna smoke weed on me.”

Tory Lanez Tells Drake: Unlike You, I'm Good in Philly

Tory Lanez took another shot at Drake this week telling his rival that he can’t hang out in Philly.

The “Say It” singer released a video on social media where he’s walking the streets of Philadelphia boasting about his acceptance in that community. “We really out here in Philly. Real Toronto n***as out here in Philly. Not them other guys. We really be out here. You heard,” he said. “We out here in Philly. Unlike you, I’m good in Philly n***a,” said Lanez. He also said he was better than Drake during a recent interview.

Lanez gave a different perspective about his relationship with Drake when he interviewed with Sway earlier this week. “I ain’t even here to talk about him. It ain’t even one of those. Right now I’m here to talk about me and this album,” he said to Sway. “I just want the music to speak for itself. It ain’t got nothing to do with anybody else. I think people just took this whole situation out of proportion. I’m just here to be No.1. I don’t have no personal problems with anybody. I think that’s the misconception that artist’s have with me. They think I’m this d**khead.”
