Da Brat Cops "Toilet Paper Money" Chain

Da Brat, who’s been relatively quiet for quite some time, hit up social media this week to show off her new toilet paper money chain.

The new piece is a roll of paper, but it has dollars bills coming off the end of it instead of actual toilet tissue sheets. The side of the roll and face of the bill is lit up with diamonds. The rapper shouted out her jeweler in the post. “My guy Suny is such a G. He takes gr8 care of me and my people. The custom piece game is sewed up. He can make ANYTHING. He’s got stores but also a private broker and caters to your/my diamond addiction. All V’s!!!!,” she wrote. Aside from doing promo for her jeweler, Da Brat also released some music which debuted new So So Def artist Phresh Ali. The track, “Lighting Round,” also features her mentor Jermaine Dupri.

Snoop Tells 50 Cent He's Fu**in Him Up if He Doesn't Get Role on Power

Snoop Dogg was on the East Coast recently, and during a stop through New York City, he took a minute out to deliver an ultimatum to 50 Cent concerning the next season of Power.

“Aye yo 50, it’s Snoop Dogg. I f**ks with Power n***a, I told you that Season 1, 2, now you in Season 3. N***a if I don’t get a role in Season 4… I’m f***ing you up [sic],” Snoop said , in a recording addressing the G-Unit boss.  “Get at me n***a this’ Snoop Dogg, I’m in The Big Apple cuz. JR Writer on Dipset Breaking Up After Cam'ron's Beef with 50 Cent

Rap stars who lead their cliques usually are the only breakout stars, however, when it came to Dipset, JR Writer says Cam’ron made sure to push his ego aside and support his artists. “Once Cam sees Jim and Juelz out the way, he’ll be like, ‘JR and Hell Rell, come meet me over here. Let’s do this photo shoot for this cover, go to the radio kill it, do it like that because these n***** already poppin’ so let’s get y’all s*** poppin’.'”

With Cam’s efforts, JR said he found himself between bidding wars with labels and ended up signing with Koch Records and released his first album History in the Making. “That album was number two in the country. It would’ve been number one if it wasn’t for—rest in peace—Pimp C.” JR told DJ Vlad, “It did great numbers. They was happy over [at Koch Records].”

In this interview, JR opens up about recording his first song in front of Jay Z, seeing the tension between Jay and Cam, how the group drifted apart, and why he received a cease and desist order for using the Dipset logo on his project.

Listen to a Snippet of Desiigner’s New Song ‘Outlet’

Fresh off the release of his new mixtape For the Culture, DJ SpinKing links up with Desiigner for a track tentatively titled “Outlet.”

A snippet of the forthcoming banger popped up on Saturday (Oct. 8) during an episode of OVOSOUND Radio. Although it’s a short preview, Desiigner can be heard doing his famous “git-git” and “brrraaaaah” ad-libs all over the track’s horns.

“Got that Ruger on me,” he rhymes. “Jeweler on me / Moolah on me.”

Released last week, For the Culture features “This Big” with 50 Cent, Ty Dolla $ign, and Jeremih, as well as appearances by Pusha T, Fetty Wap, Dave East, Tory Lanez, and The Game.

But it looks like SpinKing’s not stopping with that. This new Desiigner track wasn’t on the mixtape and is expected to drop in full soon.

New Music: Young Lo feat. Chris Brown & Flawkoe – ‘Trapping Out the Garage’

Chris Brown is “Trapping Out the Garage” on his latest collaboration, but he doesn’t do it alone. Instead, Breezy is joined by Flawkoe on the Young Lo track.

The trap-infused production allows Chris to show his rhyme skills and flex on his haters.

“These ni**as all fake,” he raps. “These ni**as all snitch / Same ni**a in them DMs, trying to fuck with your bitch.”

Flawkoe comes through with rapid-fire rhymes in Spanish. Meanwhile, Young Lo handles the hook and a verse on his new joint.

Lo is a member of Brown’s OHB (Only Hood Bosses) collective. In April, the group joined Chris on their mixtape Before Da Trap: Nights in Tarzana.

Breezy’s been busy as of late. This month, he appeared in DJ Khaled’s star-studded “Do You Mind” video and has also received some optimistic news on his assault with a deadly weapon case. Insiders claim the case may be dropped soon.

For now, listen to Chris, Lo, and Flawkoe’s “Trapping Out the Garage” below.

Dr. Dre and Ice Cube Cleared in Suge Knight Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Dr. Dre and Ice Cube have been cleared in the wrongful death lawsuit filed against them and Marion “Suge” Knight following the death of a man named Terry Carter.

The court ruled that Dre and Cube couldn’t be held responsible for Suge’s actions, as per TMZ. Knight is accused of running over and killing Carter in a pickup truck at Tam’s Burgers.

Dre, Cube, and Suge were originally named as defendants in the lawsuit, which was filed by Carter’s widow, Lilian Carter. She believed Dre and Cube hired gang members to work as security on their Straight Outta Compton set in order to deter Knight from interrupting production.

Knight is accused of running over Carter after being asked to leave the set by security. Meanwhile, the Death Row mogul claims he was scared for his life and was fleeing the scene after an altercation.

The original complaint read: “This lawsuit concerns the tragic tale of how reckless corporate greed, disguised as the quest for authenticity, [led] to a foreseeable altercation that resulted in the death of a successful businessman.”

While Cube and Dre have been cleared, Knight remains involved. He’s also awaiting a murder trial for the same fatal hit-and-run.

Dr. Dre might be in the clear with that lawsuit, but he could be back in the courtroom soon.

He’s reportedly threatening to sue Sony Pictures if they air “Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le.” The film is said to depict Dre as abusive towards his ex-girlfriend, Michel’le. It reportedly includes scenes where the famed producer-turned-mogul punches the singer in the face and pulls a gun on her, according to TMZ.

In August of last year, Michel’le was asked why she felt she wasn’t included in Straight Outta Compton, the N.W.A biopic, despite her extensive work with the label. “Why would [Dr.] Dre put me in it?” she asked, during an interview with VladTV. “If they start from where they start from, I was just a quiet girlfriend who got beat up and told to sit down and shut up.”

Dre’s legal team has given Sony a cease and desist letter, denying the alleged abuse and adding that he will sue if it airs. The movie is scheduled to hit Lifetime on Saturday (Oct. 15).
