The Real is coming back.
J. Cole has announced that his new single “Middle Child,” produced by T-Minus (Drake, Kendrick Lamar), will drop on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 9 p.m. EST. Taking to social media, Cole shared the announcement along with the cover artwork.
It’s unclear if “Middle Child” will appear on the upcoming Dreamville compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III or a project of Cole’s own. He had previously announced plans for a mixtape called The Off-Season, which is expected to precede his next album The Fall Off.
Just last week, he wrapped the recording sessions for Revenge of the Dreamers III, which took place in Atlanta over the course of 10 days, with artists including T.I., DJ Khaled, Wale, and Swizz Beatz. Dreamville co-founder Ibrahim Hamad took to Instagram Stories to preview a never-before-heard Cole track that may appear on the project.
Prior to today’s announcement, Cole cleared out his Instagram account and posted what may be the lyrics to “Middle Child.” The since-deleted posts read “I’m counting my bullets,” “I’m loading my clips,” “I’m writing down names,” and “I’m making a list.”
“Middle Child” follows Cole’s album KOD, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 in April. In August, he dropped his “Album of the Year (Freestyle).”
2 Chainz is gearing up for a big 2019.
In anticipation of his oft-delayed album Rap or Go to the League, the Atlanta kingpin warms fans up with his “Stay Woke Freestyle.”
Over the Buddah Bless production, which opens with a sample of INOJ’s “My Boo,” the “South Atlanta Don” brags about being “lit since age 15” and compares his bars to fentanyl.
“Look in the mirror, say I did it myself / But God right there, he know I needed some help,” raps 2 Chainz. “I seen ’em follow trends till they end up broke / Read a book, change they diet / Talkin’ ’bout stay woke.”
He is now putting the finishing touches on Rap or Go to the League, which he first announced in February 2018. “I have a few samples that need clearing so I can drop this mudafuca album on Dey azzzz,” he wrote on Instagram. “Im rappin like juggernaut on that bih !! Can’t wait for you to hear the growth and direction !!! Im sure people don’t know what to expect anyway.”

Teyana Taylor is setting the record straight.
The K.T.S.E. singer has denied reports that she and her husband Iman Shumpert had a threesome with porn star Alby Ryder, which resulted in Ryder’s pregnancy. The Sacramento Kings guard has been leaving comments on Ryder’s Instagram page and Teyana has since disabled her Instagram account, which fueled speculation.
But Taylor, who shares a 4-year-old daughter with Shumpert, took to Twitter to shoot down the rumors. “I’ve never seen/touched that girl in my life,” said Teyana, adding that she deleted her IG because her label Def Jam would not drop her “WTP” video on time.
She continued, “Iman is not dumb he know I’d kill him End of story.”
Ryder, who gave birth to a daughter in late 2018, has also denied that Shumpert fathered her child. “Whoever is spreading these rumors just know ITS FAKE NEWS AND IT AINT HIS BABY,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “I had my baby with the man I was dating and that man ain’t Iman.”
Teyana has been open about her sex life. She penned the song “3 Way” about threesomes on her latest album K.T.S.E. “I also wanted to create something to where, I feel like, a lot of the times, in society, we make it to where it’s always the guy that wants it,” she told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez. “It’s always like, it gotta be birthday or Christmas to get that. It gotta be a holiday to get it. But it’s like, listen, I think that my husband is extremely sexy. I love to explore. Call me Dora. I’m Dora the Explorer in my marriage. I’m Curious George.”
PnB Rock is behind bars after marijuana and a stolen gun were allegedly found in his home near Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 20).
According to CBS 3 Philly, police were called to the luxury townhouse the 27-year-old rapper was renting in Bensalem following “numerous complaints of loud parties and the constant smell of marijuana coming from the residence.” Investigators say they developed probable cause that Rock, born Rakim Hasheem Allen, was selling weed.

Allen was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of narcotics, receiving stolen property (for the stolen handgun), criminal conspiracy, and other related offenses.
