New Music: Nicki Minaj feat. Nas – ‘Sorry’

Hot off the release of Queen, Nicki Minaj liberates “Sorry,” a collaboration with Nas that didn’t make her album.

Over the island-inspired track, which Funkmaster Flex premiered on Hot 97, Nicki pens a love letter to her ex. Nas and Nicki briefly dated before breaking up earlier this year.

“Hey baby / Even though you break my heart, I still love you,” says Nicki on the intro, while Nas references their breakup. “Gangsta love, completin’ each / Touchin’ tongues so close we could breathe for each other / Untouchable boy with the illustrious girl / But maybe being together’s too much for the world.”

The Tracy Chapman-sampled song wasn’t included on Queen due to a clearance issue. Despite Nicki’s plea, Chapman wouldn’t clear the record, according to Nicki. “Sis said no,” she tweeted.

Queen is available now and features collaborations with Eminem, The Weeknd, Future, Ariana Grande, Lil Wayne, Foxy Brown, and more.
