Kanye West Receives Cease & Desist Letter from Dr. Jan Adams

Dr. Jan Adams responds to Kanye West.

Over the weekend, West said he wanted to put Dr. Adams, who performed his mother Donda’s final surgery, on the cover of his next album as an act of forgiveness. Today, Adams replies with a 3-page open letter published by The Blast.

“Thank you for thinking of me for the cover of your next album. That is kind of you,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, I have to decline at this time, and I ask that you cease and desist using my photo or any image of me to promote your album or any of your work.”

Adams, who performed a tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery on Donda a day before her 2007 passing, went on to note excerpts from the coroner’s report. It highlights alleged negligence of her nurse, Kanye’s cousin Stephan Scoggins, following the surgery.

“Perhaps you should put your cousin’s picture on your next album,” he wrote. “Don’t put my picture out there and claim you are about love. Love deals with the truth.”

Kanye shared Adams’ letter on Twitter along with a message. “This is amazing,” he wrote. “Thank you so much for this connection brother. I can’t wait to sit with you and start healing.”

West seemed to indicate that this album would be called LOVE EVERYONE. In addition to his solo offering, Kanye and Kid Cudi are working on their joint album Kids See Ghost, due June 8.

J. Cole Is the First Artist to Debut 3 Songs Simultaneously in Top 10

J. Cole continues to make history with KOD.

After dismantling Spotify and Apple Music’s 24-hour streaming records, J. Cole makes Billboard history. Today, the Fayetteville star becomes the first artist to debut three songs simultaneously on the Hot 100.

Cole’s new joints “ATM,” “Kevin’s Heart,” and “KOD” arrive at Nos. 6, 8, and 10, respectively. He is the first artist to debut three top 10 cuts on the coveted songs chart in the same week. Additionally, the songs open at No. 2, 3, and 6 on the Streaming Songs chart, according to Billboard.

Jermaine’s wins don’t end there. In fact, all 12 of the songs from KOD bowed somewhere on the Hot 100 this week. This includes “Photograph” (No. 14), “Motiv8” (No. 15), “1985 (Intro to ‘The Fall Off’)” (No. 20), “The Cut Off” (No. 28), “Brackets” (No. 30), “Window Pain (Outro)” (No. 41), “Friends” (No. 46), and “Intro” (No. 53).

In 2016, he also placed all 10 songs from 4 Your Eyez Only on the Hot 100. Two additional songs not on the album, “False Prophets” and “Everybody Dies,” also made it on the chart at the time.

Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left to Cry” also makes a splash, debuting at No. 3. Along with Cole’s three joints, this is also the first time four songs debuted in the Hot 100’s top 10.

Drake’s “Nice for What” continues to reign on the chart, followed by “God’s Plan.” Drake has spent 34 cumulative weeks at No. 1, tying Elton John for third-most among solo male artists. Usher (47) and Michael Jackson (37) lead in that distinction. He also appears on the chart with BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive” at No. 9.

Drake and Cole reached another milestone. This marks only the second time two artists nabbed three top 10 slots apiece. Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea previously did this in 2014.

Judge Allows Meek Mill to Travel for Work

Last week, Meek Mill was released from prison on bail. Now, Judge Genece Brinkley has approved his travel outside of Pennsylvania for scheduled business trips, according to TMZ.

There are some conditions to this amendment. For example, Meek must submit his itinerary to the probation department 72 hours ahead of schedule.

In addition to this, Judge Brinkley is allowing Meek to live in Montgomery County. His previously bail conditions required a Philadelphia County address. Mill must meet other requirements, as well, including at least one urine test per month.

Brinkley amended the bail conditions on Friday. That same night, Mill was out in New York City with Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin. The two reportedly met with Roc Nation management over dinner.

Mill walked out of prison on Apr. 25 following a lengthy battle over his release on bail. Rubin picked him up in a helicopter and made him an honorary guest at the 76ers’ playoff game against the Miami Heat.

“I haven’t slept a minute since I got out of prison,” Meek told “NBC Nightly News.” “It’s like a culture shock coming from a small cell back into the real world, so I think my body has to adjust.”

Despite this, he said he doesn’t feel free. “I don’t feel free,” he explained. “I ain’t felt free since I caught this case at the age of 19. I’m 30 now. I pray, I believe God is my first lawyer. I always believed that and I got a strong team behind me…There’s a lot of light shed on my situation.”

Logic Buys $3.5 Million Calabasas Bachelor Pad

Last month, Logic filed for divorce from his wife Jessica Andrea. In the wake of their separation, the rapper has copped a multi-million dollar bachelor pad in Calabasas, Calif.

Hot off his Bobby Tarantino II chart-topper, Logic shelled out $3.57 million on a 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom house near Hidden Hills in the San Fernando Valley, according to TMZ.

Originally listed for $3.779 million, Logic’s new pad is both lavish and spacious. It features 7,075 square feet, a pool, and a hot tub on a large patio overlooking the mountains.

Logic recently topped the charts with Bobby Tarantino II. To promote the mixtape, he is kicking off the “Bobby Tarantino Vs. Everybody Tour” on June 8 in Boston.

After that, Bobby says he won’t let up. “I have several albums that are finished,” he recently confirmed. “100 percent, but that’s not some wack-ass rapper flex. The reason I have all that done in advance is because of the films and novels that I’m doing, and the TV show and all the stuff I’m starring in, writing in, and production company, and the record label, and the artists I have signed. I want to make sure everything gets its proper time.”

Quavo gets into another “Fight Night” in Las Vegas. The Migos star and three entourage members were charged with battery following a Sin City altercation over the weekend.

Police sources say that Quavo and his entourage pulled up at Encore Las Vegas early Saturday morning following a Friday night performance. A valet worker asked them to move the vehicle to make way for an incoming ambulance, according to TMZ.

However, that request prompted rage, according to the insiders. Quavo and three other men jumped out of the car and got into a scuffle with the employee before hotel security intervened. Police arrived, cited, and released all four men, including the Migos star.

Takeoff, Offset and Cardi B were also present at the time of the incident. Migos and Bardi went on to perform at Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C. over the weekend.

Quavo is no stranger to altercations. In February, he was accused of assault and robbery at a Grammys after-party. In October, the rapper and Offset were reportedly involved in a street brawl and the following month, XXXTentacion claimed Migos jumped and stabbed him.
