New Music: Kosine feat. JoJo – ‘Your World’

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, JoJo links up with one half of Da Internz, Kosine, on their love-laced collaboration “Your World.”

Produced by Da Internz and Affordable Healthcare, “Your World” finds JoJo in a trance, while singing about her lover. “Baby, it’s your world,” she sings. “Yeah, baby, it’s your time / I feel like a silly girl / Lost in your eyes.”

The track has a breakdown around the two-minute mark, which would be opportune for a guest appearance, according to Kosine. Taking to SoundCloud, he added: “Somebody needs to drop a fire verse right here!”

Kosine originally planned to release the song on Valentine’s Day, but couldn’t wait any longer. “i was trying to wait til Valentines day to drop this @iamjojo record, but you guys need to know this song inside and out by V-Day!!!! WHO’S READY FOR NEW JOJO,” he wrote. “With no further ado, you guys over deserve this.”

This isn’t a first for Kosine and JoJo. Four years ago, the songstress teamed up with Da Internz for a couple of songs off her #LoveJo EP.

Ne-Yo Taps PARTYNEXTDOOR, 2 Chainz for New Album ‘Good Man’

Ne-Yo has enlisted a star-studded cast for his forthcoming album Good Man.

Speaking to Beats 1, the R&B crooner revealed the guest list for the follow-up to 2015’s Non-Fiction, which spans various genres. The lineup includes 2 Chainz, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Eric Bellinger, Bebe Rexha, Stefflon Don, and Romeo Santos.

The soulful crooner said that his collaboration with PND came from a “genuine conversation” and that it will be a sign of more to come. “We came up with a lot of good stuff, actually,” he said. “There’s actually a collection of songs that I have, that I’m holding on to for a little side project later on, but there was one of that bunch that I liked so much, that I decided to put on this album. Myself, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Eric Bellinger are on that record.”

Meanwhile, Tity Boi appears on a remorseful track. “2 Chainz blessed me on a record called ‘Apology,’” he said. “I realized that, in order for me to become this cake, some eggs had to be broken. Those eggs just happened to be people, young women, and a lot of people got hurt behind me being that guy. I look back on it like, ‘If I was never that guy, I wouldn’t be this guy now.’ These women who had to deal with that, at the very least, they’re owed an apology. I played it for Chainz and what he came with was sincere and it was real.”

Last week, Ne-Yo dropped the D’Angelo-sampled title track from the album, which is due later this year. “This album focuses on the journey of what it is to be a good man: a good man to your spouse, a good brother to your brother, a good person to the world,” added Ne-Yo. “I am not proclaiming to be perfect. A good man makes mistakes, learns from those mistakes, therefore to not then repeat those mistakes. Being a good man is a journey.”

Jhené Aiko Addresses Rumors She Cheated with Big Sean

Jhené Aiko’s relationship with Big Sean is raising eyebrows. After addressing their romance in a recent interview, the R&B songstress is clearing up any misconceptions about the relationship.

Speaking with BBC Radio 1Xtra, Aiko revealed that she went on a “date” with Sean “just as a friend” back in 2012, while she was dating another person who was “secretly” married. Some readers took this to mean that she cheated on her then-boyfriend while others thought it was about her ex-husband Dot Da Genius, who she privately married and divorced some years later.

One Twitter user posted a screenshot from Rap-Up’s article about the interview, adding: “Your WCW goes on dates with her friends just as a ‘friend.’” Fans responded to that with additional allegations. “Boyfriend? Wasn’t she married to dude?” Another added: “She’s trash.”

But Aiko found time to respond to these accusations in a lengthy series of tweets, detailing the timeline of her romance with Sean. “i saw a negative spirited tweet about myself, with lots of retweets and likes,” she wrote. “based on one QUOTE from a FULL interview that was about ONE MOMENT in my life in which i did nothing but go to a basketball game lol… this quote has turned into gossip because of speculation.

“in 2012 i was in a relationship w/someone who was secretley still married to his baby’s mother the whole year and a half we were together… this person was not Dot,” she added. “i found out and we began to seperate… he moved out of my apt, we stopped speaking… and then i went to basketball game w/ a friend. even tho we werent speaking, i called my then boyfriend and let him know i was going because im considerate.”

She revealed that their basketball game outing did not immediately lead to romance. “there was no sucking, fucking, kissing, hand holding or sexting that followed,” she wrote. “i went on to lose my brother 2 months after that basketball game. i remained single for awhile and decided to focus on my Nami and recording my ep ‘sail out’ & album ‘souled out’ … and sorry to dissappoint yet again, but me and sean remained platonic friends through out…the rest of the story can be heard on Trip the album…for an in depth look u can also pick up 2fish the poetry book.”

After the lengthy thread, Aiko launched a Twitter book club. “while we’re all here (while we’re young 🙃) can we start a book club?” she asked. “and can we start with Peace is Every Step by @thichnhathanh and discuss it chapter by chapter every Monday, on Twitter.”
