Mary J. Blige Lost Money Making ‘Mudbound,’ According to Divorce Docs

Mary J. Blige is making some shocking financial disclosures in anticipation of her upcoming divorce trial with estranged husband Kendu Isaacs.

Recently, the award-winning singer and actress confirmed that she hasn’t made any profit from her work in Mudbound, for which she is nominated for two Academy Awards, according to The Blast.

“The film Mudbound, for example, has produced no net income for Petitioner, but has garnered her critical acclaim and award nominations,” reads an excerpt from court docs. “Pursuant to the Mudbound contract, the expenses Petitioner was required to pay in connection with filming Mudbound were greater than her salary.”

Additionally, Blige claims that she doesn’t own her music catalog and that she owes $25 million in advances that she has accepted over the years.

Although she acknowledges that her greatest source of income comes from touring, she adds that she isn’t able to “embark on a major world tour every year” because there is no market for her to do so as a “legacy artist.”

Blige says that the couple had $12 million in debt prior to the divorce and that she is still working to pay that off while Isaacs “refuses” to work. According to the report, she says he views her as his “bank.”

Blige is scheduled to perform at the 90th Annual Academy Awards on March 4, where she’s up for Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Song. The divorce trial is scheduled to begin next month.

Post Malone Calls U.S. Government the ‘Biggest Lie in the World’

Post Malone says the United States government is the “biggest lie in the world.”

During an interview with Montreality, the “Pyscho” rapper opens up about why he feels that America isn’t what it used to be. “The biggest lie in the world? It would have to be the fucking U.S. government, actually,” he said. “I’m serious. It’s not what it used to be. It used to be so sick, and about the people, and about freedom, and all that shit. Now it’s just bullshit. It’s a fuckin’ reality show.”

Malone went on to say that he thinks this will lead to “weird shit” in the near future. “I think there’s gonna be a lotta weird shit that happens within our lifetime and generation that really changes the way of the world,” he added. “So move somewhere because whenever martial law is declared, whenever your credit cards fails, whenever your banks fail…you have three days to get outta where you are, because that’s when they’re coming for you.”

Following “rockstar” and “Psycho,” Malone is currently prepping for the release of his sophomore album Beerbongs & Bentleys, which awaits a release date.

Read additional quotes from the interview below.

On 50 Cent: “I grew up listening to G-Unit and all the New York stuff because I was born in Syracuse, and Fat Joe, Joe Crack.”

On ‘Window Shopper’ Remix: “It’s very legendary. I just wanted to pay homage to him. I made the song. He got on the song later and now we’re friends.”

On Girlfriend Ashlen: “I hate her right now. She’s probably the most annoying person ever, but I love her and I still put up with her. She supports me whenever I’m acting crazy. She’s crazy and I’m crazy. I love her and I hate her.”

On His Message to the Youth: “Don’t give up. There’s a lot of people that are gonna try to put you down and kick you while you’re down, and they’re gonna tell you that you’re never gonna be shit. But keep on rocking. I had very dark times, but you’re always gonna come out like a phoenix.”

Gucci Mane Offers to Pay for His 20-Year High School Reunion

Gucci Mane has big plans for his 20-year high school reunion. El Gato, the Human Glacier doesn’t just want to attend it. Instead, he wants to pay for it himself.

“This year marks my 20th year from graduating high school in 1998,” he tweeted. “I want to personally invite anybody who graduated from #McNair aka McNasty aka #BouldercrestHigh to v103 car and bike show to go with me and also I want pay for our 20 yr reunion myself!”

Guwop recalled his high school experience in The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, which dropped last year. “I graduated from McNair in the spring of 1998 with a 3.0 GPA and a HOPE scholarship to Georgia Perimeter College,” he wrote.

However, the East Atlanta Santa opted not to gun for higher education immediately. “I was doing pretty well for myself in the streets, so going back to school was the last thing on my mind,” he added. “So I didn’t go. I think they call that a gap year.”

Eventually, he enrolled at Georgia Perimeter College, where he felt like an outsider and he said his college experience was brief.

McNair High School’s Twitter account has shown Gucci love in the past. Last year, they retweeted a post that promoted his book. They also celebrated his Billboard Music Awards nominations, writing: “We are so proud of our McNair High School Alumni!!”

Next up, Gucci’s autobiography is set to hit the big screen through Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. He is also working on his next solo album The Evil Genius and a Glacier Boyz joint effort with Migos and Lil Yachty.

Video: Logic – ‘Overnight’

Shortly after doubling up with “44 More,” Logic goes on an “Overnight” adventure to Japan and Hawaii in the video for his latest release.

The clip opens with a message about how the visual came together. “We took a trip to Maui & Tokyo to record music,” he said. “While there Logic said, ‘Yo let’s shoot a music video. Fuck it.’”

Bobby Tarantino kicks back on a hammock in Maui and throws a scenic pool party at sunset with some friends. He also lounges on a jet and runs through the streets of Tokyo, rapping along to his track about success in the face of adversity.

“I treated everybody with respect and now I’m rich,” he raps. “Maybe you got issues with your daddy though / Maybe you was bullied back in high school / Maybe you are just a tool / Maybe you’re the reason I don’t fuck with nobody / And maybe you’re the reason I came up with nobody.”

Last year, Logic teased a portion of the song on Snapchat. It’s unclear where “Overnight” and “44 More” will land, but they could very well appear on the Maryland rapper’s forthcoming album Ultra 85. “My next album will be called Ultra 85, and it will be the conclusion to this saga,” he wrote in a hidden message on a limited edition booklet for last year’s Everybody.

Aside from that, Logic has his eyes on the big screen. “I’ve always wanted to act, so I’m making a movie,” he recently said. “I just finished a novel and I’m excited to get it published. You can’t put my talents in a box because my talents have put me in a mansion, and I’ll be damned if anybody in the world can tell me what I can or cannot do because they’re scared to do it themselves.”

Rich the Kid Previews Lil Uzi Vert Diss Track

After going back-and-forth with Lil Uzi Vert on social media, Rich the Kid has decided to make a diss track aimed at his new rival.

Taking to Instagram Live, Rich previewed the DJ Mustard-produced cut, which appears to reference “XO TOUR Llif3” and “Money Longer.” “All them dead friends,” he raps. “You a lil’ man / You a lil’ man / Your money gettin’ shorter.”

The feud was apparently sparked in January, when Uzi London complained about his deal with Generation Now. “That’s why you SHOULDA signed Rich forever,” The Kid tweeted. Vert replied: “Boy I’m not signing for 20racks.”

Earlier this month, he also told Los Angeles radio station Power 106 that he wouldn’t sign Uzi to his label “for personal reasons.” “Maybe I would sign him on my business, but for personal reasons I wouldn’t sign him,” he said.

On Monday (Feb. 26), Uzi posted a photo of himself with green hair, holding a giant crab that he tagged as Rich the Kid. Not taking too kindly to that, Rich responded with: “Aw look at my son @liluzivert trine look jus like me.”

It’s unclear when the diss track will actually be released, but it could appear on Rich the Kid’s debut album, The World Is Yours, which is due March 30.

#RichTheKid said #LilUzi tryna be #twinsies ? What do y'all think #Roommates?
