Lil Wayne Says ‘Tha Carter V’ Is ‘Coming Soon’

Is Lil Wayne’s Carter V finally ready to drop?

The long-awaited album, which has been the source of speculation and rumors for years now, is on the way, according to Weezy.

During a recent “Kloser 2 U Tour” stop in Dallas, the Young Money boss made it known: “CV coming soon,” he said. “Fuck Cash Money. It’s the Roc.”

C5 has been teased several times since 2012, but it’s also been the subject of controversy. In fact, it’s currently entangled in a $51 million lawsuit that Wayne filed against his label, Cash Money.

Even as all of this has been happening, Wayne teased C5 in a Facebook post back in January. This came after pharma-mogul Martin Shkreli claimed he bought the album and previewed a snippet online in December.

Aside from Carter V, Wayne has also been promoting Funeral, Dedication 6, and other projects this year, though all seem to be tied up in his ongoing legal battle with Cash Money.

Mixed messages have also confused fans. In the midst of this, Birdman said that the album is “definitely coming out” back in January. “The situation with me and my son, I’m going to put it all behind us and just let it move forward,” he said. “Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him continue to do what he been doing, and I’m going to support whatever he’s doing. But you’re definitely going to get that C5.”

But Wayne has shown frustration with his longtime home. His most recent “Fuck Cash Money” statement is just the latest verbal takedown of the label, which he’s helped build since his teenage years. Not only has he distanced himself from the imprint, but he has also aligned himself with Jay Z’s Roc Nation, even if it isn’t an official partnership.

Last week, Tunechi addressed his relationship with Hov. “Jay is just a good guy. It was nothing but a simple thing,” he told Skip Bayless. “Friend to friend, I just want to help you. Simply. That’s all it was. I just want to help you, man, in any way I can. Right now, he’s just gonna help me in any way he can.”

Wayne is set to continue his “Kloser 2 U Tour,” which has also been at the center of controversy. Recently, Weezy ended a show after a fan threw a drink onstage. After calling his “goon squad,” Tunechi walked out.

New Music: Cashmere Cat feat. Jhené Aiko – ‘Plz Don’t Go’

This week, Cashmere Cat unleashed his star-studded debut 9 and one of the album’s standouts lies in the Jhené Aiko collaboration, “Plz Don’t Go.”

Blending Jhené’s soothing vocals with Cashmere and Benny Blanco’s hypnotic production, “Plz Don’t Go” is a sweet dedication to a lover.

“Let’s stay until the last light fades,” sings Jhené. “We’ve come from so far away / And right now, I think we should stay / You know there’s so much more to see / So don’t go home without me.”

“Plz Don’t Go” is actually the closing track on 9, which also boasts collaborations with Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Jhené Aiko, Kehlani, Francis and the Lights, Ty Dolla $ign, Selena Gomez, Tory Lanez, and Camila Cabello.

Video: Fat Joe & Remy Ma feat. The-Dream – ‘Heartbreak’

Welcome to “Heartbreak.” Fat Joe and Remy Ma aren’t done with Plata o Plomo. More than two months after dropping their joint project, the Terror Squad duo unleashes a video for “Heartbreak.”

Accompanied by The-Dream, Joey Crack and Remy post up at a lavish mansion. Relaxing in a cabana and chillin’ by the pool, all three stars have a blast to escape any notion of “Heartbreak.”

Directed by Eif Rivera, the summer-ready clip is a fun day of relaxation and partying. With the drinks flowing, the fun continues into the night, as Remy, Joe, King Dream, and even Flo Rida celebrate at a fun party, where lovers are dancing through the night.

Don Cartagena talked about the collaboration back when it was first released in February. “The song has a beautiful vibe,” he said at the time. “I called Dream because he’s one of the greatest and I’ve always wanted to work with him.”

50 Cent to Host Late Night Variety Show ’50 Central’

Here’s 50!

In a surprising move, the rapper-actor-mogul 50 Cent is coming to late night with his very own variety show on BET.

This week, the network announced that it has purchased 24 episodes of the 30-minute late night variety show “50 Central,” a series that will be hosted by the G-Unit General.

Fans can expect sketches, hidden camera pranks, musical performances, and celebrity guests on the show, which will be produced by G-Unit Film & Television, in collaboration with Back Roads Entertainment. Fif is set to executive produce the show, along with Stephen J. Savva, Colby Gaines, and Riley Robbins.

“You are gonna love this,” said 50. “you know I get the green light. #IGETTHEBAG.”

In addition to “50 Central,” the network has also confirmed new shows produced by Kevin Hart (“Divorce Saved My Marriage”), Steve Harvey (“Mancave”), Wanda Sykes (“Face Value”), and Chris Rock (“The Rundown with Robin Thede”).

BET is also bringing more biopics, following their “New Edition Story” success. The network has projects about Bobby Brown and Suge Knight in the works.

The network’s CEO Debra Lee spoke on how these moves will continue to grow the company. “BET’s global influence is stronger than ever and we are continuing to expand beyond the television screen to impact our audience – and the world – across multiple platforms,” Lee said, according to Variety. “Some networks offer reach and some engagement, but no other network offers reach, engagement, culture, lifestyle and influence.”

Another big network announcement has to do with “The Breaks” and “Hit the Floor,” two shows that are transitioning from VH1 to BET.

Future Removes Kodak Black from ‘Nobody Safe Tour,’ Adds A$AP Ferg & New Dates

Just days before his “Nobody Safe Tour” kicks off, Future has made some changes to the lineup and itinerary.

Kodak Black — who is currently locked up for a probation violation — has been dropped from the trek, while A$AP Ferg is now on board.

There have been questions about Kodak’s availability for the tour. He was found guilty of violating house arrest earlier this week and is now facing jail time that could range from time served to several years.

Hours before the “Nobody Safe Tour” announcement was made, Black’s lawyer Raven Ramona Liberty spoke on the situation. “I have the utmost faith in God that he will be out on the fourth and will start the tour,” Liberty told Bossip. “Fortunately he has the money to pay for attorneys. But this happens all the time to young men in his situation. I don’t think sitting in jail is the correct punishment.”

Nevertheless, the show will go on without Kodak. Set to launch May 4 in Memphis, the “Nobody Safe Tour” boasts a rotating roster that also includes Tory Lanez, Migos, Young Thug, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Zoey Dollaz.

Hendrix has also added new dates to the previously-announced jaunt, including shows in Atlanta, Mountain View, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Diego. However, dates in Jackson (May 9) and Denver (June 13) have been canceled.

The tour’s pre-sale begins May 1. General tickets go on sale May 4 at 10 a.m. local time.

Man Walks Away Unharmed Seconds After His Jeep Flips on Highway

After witnessing a devastating accident while headed to work on the Interstate 65 freeway on Tuesday morning, April 25, AJ Calvin of Mobile discovered that the entire thing had been recorded by his dash cam. And in playing the video over, the Alabama resident noticed something freakish that happened, when he saw one of the survivors instantaneously come to his feet and walk away from the wreck.

According to Calvin, the Jeep seen flipping over at top speed had been going way too fast alongside the speedy red car that it would collide with. “I said to myself, ‘Somebody’s going to get in a wreck,'” Calvin told a local Fox station. Sure enough, there was a wreck. What was most stunning though was how one of the Jeep’s passengers was ejected as the vehicle came apart, and appeared seemingly uninjured and unscathed.

Witnesses are said to have soon came to the assistance of another individual in the Jeep, while the driver of the red car is reported to have escaped injury.

Machete-Wielding Man Attacked "Liberal" Students at KY College

A man who walked into a college campus coffee shop, wielding a machete and a couple of knives on Friday morning [April 28], was arrested after making terroristic threats and causing injury to two patrons.

Witnesses have detailed how chaos unfolded when 19-year-old Mitchell W. Adkins of Cincinnati entered the premise and began asking customers about their political affiliations. He is reported to have banged the long machete on a table before calling on everyone’s attention and declaring “the day of reckoning has come.” When he then asked the person nearest to him what political party they identify with, he was told “Republican,” to which he responded, “you are safe.”

“We started to scatter and then very, very quickly, campus security was getting everybody sheltered and secure,” a Transylvania University student by the name of Tristan Reynolds told a local publication about the crowd’s reaction to realizing they were in danger of attack.

Two women were treated by emergency personnel, with one taken to the hospital after suffering lacerations from Adkins’ blade and the other attended to at the scene for having been struck by the machete’s handle. Their injuries are said to have been non-life-threatening. Adkins too was hospitalized, for self-inflicted injuries. He has been charged with first-degree and fourth-degree assault, as well as three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Teachers Reportedly Told Student to Kill Herself, Pressured Students to Bully Her

Two teachers from a school in Louisiana are facing criminal charges after they were found to have continuously bullied and intimidated an 11-year-old student. During her time learning under Ms. Ann Marie Shelvin and Ms. Tracy Gallow, the girl was reportedly put through verbal abuse and even physical attacks, by way of other students, whom were sent after the victim by one of the teachers.

According to the local St. Landry Parish Sheriff, the victim’s mother originally filed complaint against Ms. Shelvin back in February. By then the badgering experienced by the girl had reportedly become habitual, and reached such depths that Shelvin had at one point even encouraged her to “go kill herself,” the girl said. What’s more, Shelvin would direct other Washington Elementary students to target her with harassment and violence, threatening that if they didn’t comply, it would impact their academic standing. CNN was reportedly able to obtain a police report, which discloses that indeed one of three girls who attested to being recruited by Shelvin, admitted to having starting a fight, over which several students were sent to the principal’s office, at the instructions of Ms. Shelvin.

Washington Elementary eventually got rid of Shelvin, but promoted Gallow, who had been her teacher’s aide, to the position. By April the girls father was back in the Sheriff’s office, reporting that Gallow had apparently been retaliating against her daughter for the role she played in Shelvin’s dismissal. When upon investigation, the school’s principal reviewed surveillance cameras to confirm a complaint by the girl, it was found that she had pushed the girl on two occasions. The St. Landry Parish school board has pledged to take full legal action in holding Shelvin and Gallow responsible for their unlawful action by the letter of the law.

“We want to assure the school community that we take these allegations very seriously and we are doing everything to protect the health, safety and welfare of our students,” St. Landry Parish School Board supervisor of personnel Matthew Scroggins said in a statement.

Shelvin and Gallow have been charged with malfeasance in office, intimidation and interference in school operations.

Woman Pulls Gun on Barber for Taking Too Long to Cut Her Son's Hair

A barber who had been cutting the hair of a boy who revealed himself to be 7-years-old during their chat, wound up being startled by his mother when she grew tired of waiting for her to complete the job, pulled a gun, and threatened her life.

Police have yet to detain the unidentified woman, who walked into Allstate Barber College on Lorain Ave. and West 26th street in Ohio City to get her son taken care of on April 14, and walked out holding her bag tight to her. Video from a surveillance camera captures the moments leading up to the woman’s exit from the shop. She is seen standing before the barber and her son, and exchanges a couple of words, before a manager came over, only to realize that she had been pressuring his employee to hurry up and finish.

The manager’s presence apparently didn’t do much to resolve her issue with the wait time, however, as became evident when she digs into her back and draws a firearm. “I got two clips. I’ll pop you,” witnesses reported her stating. The barber didn’t waste another moment before taking the apron off of the boy so that he may follow his mother and sibling out of the door.
